Why Choose Us?
Our goal at The Learning Tree Dayschool is to provide a high-quality, safe, nurturing environment that excels in our children’s education. Your child is our main priority! We strive for our students to learn from real-life experiences and engaging, hands-on activities that they can use in their future. Because our school is small-scale, we have the ability to choose great teachers that possess a passion for children and whose job is to watch your children grow to their fullest.
Classrooms:
-Preschool
Our preschool classroom includes children ages 2.5 to 3 years of age. This class is purposely designed for the children to engage in educational play throughout the day. All of our learning is created to keep the students focused and entertained while also learning new material. One of our main goals in the preschool class is potty training. We are constantly encouraging the use of the toilet as well as practicing. The use of communication is also very big in this class, for this is the age children are starting to tell you what they want/need as well as questioning. Some of our curriculum includes learning our number, colors, shapes and alphabet at this age in addition to sharing and problem-solving. Both fine and gross motor skills are constantly being practiced in the preschool room whether it is holding a crayon correctly or balancing on a beam.
-PreK
Our PreK classroom includes children ages 4 to 5 years of age. This class is purposely designed to prepare our students for Kindergarten. We want our students to be more than ready for their start in elementary therefore we go above and beyond promoting learning. At this age some of our curriculum includes learning to write our name and numbers, correctly expressing our emotions, problem-solving activities, identifying simple words/phrases, understanding calendars and much more. Our PreK class is constantly promoting students to communicate their basic thoughts and feelings in addition to expressing their inner creativity.
Curriculum
The Learning Tree uses a developmentally appropriate curriculum allowing children to learn from engaging, hands-on activities. Our teachers create learning experiences based on their observations and assessments of the children, to provide unique, customized lesson plans based on the needs of the specific children in their classroom. Children’s differing interests and abilities will be taken into consideration in both planning and implementing the curriculum. Staff in each classroom will post lesson plans that provide you with information on the week’s activities and the skills to be developed through the activities and learning experiences.
About our Menu
Here at The Learning Tree, we value what our students are consuming. Our meals are prepared so that our students are receiving the most beneficial, healthy diet to properly grow. Our school is very encouraging of healthy eating, for it not only benefits our student’s health, but their growth and development. Our food specialist deliberately offers well balanced meals that kids love to eat. We feel that putting an emphasis on appealing, nutritionally balanced meals that kids will eat helps not only their development but helps them concentrate better in the class. The Learning Tree meals are catered by The Children’s Pantry and Trader Joe’s to supply your child with the best quality products for their growing bodies!
During our meal times at The Learning Tree Dayschool our students practice family style dining. We see many great benefits in our students using family style dining for it allows them to model manners and how to use utensils, promotes hand-eye coordination as children handle dishes and utensils, promotes decision-making and problem-solving as children decide what to eat and how much to eat, and it allows children to see their peers making healthy choices.
Safety
At The Learning Tree Dayschool, our most important responsibility is to commit to creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children in our school. To ensure that your child is safe at all times, security cameras are installed throughout the facility. Parents have access to view their child at any given time throughout the day on our live streaming cameras that monitor each of the classrooms, the playground, and the perimeter of the building.
Our school is also equipped with a security entry system to protect the children in our care. This system ensures that only people with access will be allowed to enter the school. Fire/intruder/emergency drills are practiced monthly as well to get children and staff familiar and comfortable with the routes and procedures in the case of an emergency.
